The focus of the research of Professor Mohnen lies in the field of corporate management and personnel economics with an emphasis on incentives, performance measurement and compensation. She is the head of the experimental laboratory of the TUM School of Management which explores the field of behavioral economics and experimental economics.
After studying economics (1997) at the University of Bonn (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität), she received her PhD (summa cum laude) from the University of Cologne in 2002 and acquired her postdoctoral teaching qualification (habilitation) in 2006. Before joining RWTH Aachen as a full professor in the Department of Business and Economics in 2008, she was a visiting scholar at Stanford University for one year as well an adjunct professor at the CEU Business School of the Central European University in Budapest/Hungary. Since 2011 she has held the Chair of Corporate Management at TUM.
