CORE PROGRAM
FEATURES
Dedicating the master thesis to an entrepreneurial project close to one’s heart, growing with like-minded peers and setting the foundation for the personal future after graduation.
The TUM Entrepreneurial Masterclass offers four batches per year, respectively starting on the 1st of January, April, July, and October. All applicants need to go through a multi-stage selection process of written application as well as interviews.
The selection will be made by a committee of members of the unversity management, UnternehmerTUM, and TUM ERI.
One of the key missions of the EMC is to form a vivid community and to allow students to expand their network and make lifelong friendships. To achieve that, there are quarterly off-sites where students are given the opportunity to meet their current batch and also make some great memories with students from the other batches.
During the bi-weekly standups, different external or internal speak- ers are giving input sessions where they present a specific topic (e.g. new skills, perspectives, experiences) an answer student’s questions.
The impact day is a chance for students to present their masterthesis to relevant stakeholders within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. For the first impact day, this is the ideal opportunity to present what fellows are and will be working on and get valuable feedback and contacts which they leverage during the rest of their masterclass journey.
During the program, there are many side events which are organized by the EMC fellows such as running dinner or volleyball tournaments.
The second impact day if for students that are about to finish their thesis. This is the perfect moment to present their (preliminary) results and leverage the entire audience to create an impact with their insights.
Following the motto “graduating with entrepreneurial impact”, the TUM Entrepreneurial Masterclass enables students to combine writing their academic master thesis with advancing an entrepreneurial project close to their heart.
The TUM Entrepreneurial Masterclass counts more than 300 fellows up to date. To strengthen that network of outstanding students, the EMC Alumni Association is planned for 2025.

THREE
TRACKS
A broad range of entrepreneurial endeavors can be pursued in the Masterclass: In all these areas, research questions arise whose scientific investigation and practical transfer contribute to academia and create an immediate real added value.
Direct contribution to the development of one’s own startup. Implementation channel for scientific findings and possible spin-offs at the chairs of TUM.
Improvement of the start-up infrastructure and support in TUM’s ecosystem.
Development of sustainable solutions for societal challenges in an interdisciplinary team (twice per year starting April 1 and October 1).
FOUR
TASK FORCES
The Masterclass lives from the initative and creativity of its members. Every fellow shapes the program by engaging in one of four taskforces. These minimum individual efforts add up, allowing the Masterclass to flourish and ensuring the program to remain close to the fellows needs and interests.
Knowledge management and further development of contents and curriculum.
Creating and maintaining a vibrant, trustful and highly supportive community of fellows and alumni.
Spreading the word in various media channels about the program as such as well as its exciting fellows, alumni and supporters.
Maintaining and enhancing the technical basis of the program including tools such as Slack and Notion as well as website management.
